HAIL TOM & JERRY

Have you cut a cake today? For what? Uff, how can anyone forget that our favorite Blue-grey British longhair cat TOM and brown house mouse Jerry turned 70 today! (Well I think they look better together TOM & JERRY). The animated series of Willam Hanna and Joseph Barbera that had started the meticulous voyage at the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California in 1940 still conquers number 4th position amongst 250 cartoon series.

For last 70 years there are many cartoon series that have been launched from time to time gained appreciation and then expired but TOM & JERRY still mesmerize individuals of all age group. The love and hate relationship of the cat and the mouse teaches us many lessons for our life time. Though petty much likes many of us, they exhibit a sadistic behaviour particularly when it comes to take pleasure in tormenting a so-far called enemy. But whenever one character gets engulfed by perilous situation other tries to develop a conscience and save him.

The wickedness of Tom reveals the rue of a person when someone tries to disturb our comfort zone. While the tiny JERRY (the second protagonist) imbued us with vigor and enthusiasm to win and never lose our fighting spirit. “Tom and Jerry has a subliminal message which is so positive. It says in spite of all the beating, bashing and threats, you keep bouncing back. There used to be an early morning show at Metro theatre many years ago where they used to screen Tom and Jerry and Donald Duck. We never used to miss that,” quotes actor and director Bharat Dabholkar in an english daily.

So, what are we waiting for cheers everyone HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOM & JERRY.
