April was too hot!! Why????????

Have you ever wondered why mercury is rising so erratically? Why there is such hysteria in earth’s climate? HT-PACE talked with member of India’s first scientific expedition to Arctic in year 2007 Dr.Dhuv Sen Singh to seek answers on some crucial climatic issues.

Dr.Sen asserted that increase and decrease in earth’s global temperature is a natural cycle and there are scientific conclusions that shows that glaciers during Pre-cabian (550 million years ago), Gondawan period (300 million yrs ago) and Pleistocene (1.1 million yrs ago) also retreated and melted down. Dinosaurs become extinct much before human arrival on the planet Earth. According to scientific theories extinction and origination of fauna and flora, retreation and advancement of glaciers, cold and warm, arid and humid stages of climate are natural phenomena. Yet we cannot deny the fact of human being are acting as a catalyst to upsurge the earth’s temperature. Though fluctuations in temperature are natural but man is continuously elevating the adverse effects of climatic changes. Human has been neglecting the environmental loss that is being happening on a name of development. If we continue to uncheck pollution, deforestation and excessive human intervention to nature than undoubtedly we are propelling ourselves on a verge to extinction. Excessive global warming can also contributes to bring in disastrous Ice Age that can also mark human extinction from the planet.

“Climatic pattern is like a wave of warm and cold tides. At present we are in climate of excessive heat in days to come what will be the pattern is still unknown to all? If we advance towards cold stage then there is nothing much to be worried about but if the trend of global warming will rise at such high rate than it definitely possess risk to human race. Therefore it should be our bounden duty towards our planet to opt for sustainable development of our nation and adopt basis measures to abate global warming ” adds Dr. Sen.

What can you do to reduce Global warming?

Ø Stop using non-biodegradable items for domestic use.

Ø There are two sinks for Carbon dioxide: Trees and Rain. We cannot control rain so we should try to plant more trees to filter and purify our surrounding. Try to plant a tree atleast at your birthday.
Ø Turn off the lights when you leave a room. Use fluorescent bulbs in your room.
Ø Turn off your computer or the TV when you’re not using it. Unplug chargers when not in use.
Ø Wait until you have a lot of clothes to wash before using the washing machine.
Ø Don’t use the machine for one item just because it’s your favorite shirts
Ø Take shorter showers. Heating water uses energy.
Ø Close the blinds on a hot day if the sun is shining in. Dress lightly instead of turning up the air conditioning or use a fan.
Ø Dress warmly inside your house when it’s cold, instead of turning up the heat.
Ø Offer to help your parents keep the air filters on your AC and furnace clean.
Ø Walk short distances instead of asking for a ride in a car.

THE ROLE OF EDUCATION IN DEVELOMENT OF WOMEN


No nation can achieve success unless education is accorded in all its citizens. Therefore, it is the bounden duty of parents to rear their children to be staunch in faith…For every praiseworthy deed is born out of the light of religion, and lacking this supreme bestowal the child will not turn away from any evil, nor will he draw nigh unto any good..
Could the students be brilliant and accomplished if the teacher is illiterates and ignorant? Mothers are the first educators of children, who establish virtues in the child’s inner nature. They encourages the child to acquire perfection and goodly manners, warn him against unbecoming qualities and encourage him to show forth resolve, firmness and endurance under hardships and to advance on the high roads of progress. Due regard for the educations of girls is, therefore, necessary. This is very important subject, and it should be administered and organized under the aegis of spiritual Assenbly….
Let the mothers consider that whatsoever concerneth the education of children is of the first importance. Thus shall these tender infants be nurtured at the breast of knowledge of GOD and His love. Thus shall they learn perseverance in all things, the will to advance, high mindness and high resolves, chastity and purity of life. Thus shall they be enabled to carry to a successful conclusion whatsoever they undertake and foster them to embrace Baha’I education.
Therefore it is incumbent upon the girls of this glorious era to be fully versed in the various branches of knowledge, in sciences and the arts and all the wonders of this pre-eminent time, that they may then educate their children and train them from their earliest days in the ways of perfection. Furthermore the education of women is more necessary important than that of man, for woman is the trainer of the child from its infancy. And if woman were imperfect then it will imply to a condition of imperfection in all mankind. If the educator were incompetent, the educated will be correspondingly lacking. This is evident and incontrovertible.
In proclaiming the oneness of mankind the taught that men and women are equal in the sight of GOD and that there this no distinction to be made between them .The only difference between them is due to lack of education and training .If woman is given opportunity of education, distinction and estimate of inferiority will disappear. Both the humans; both are endowed with potentialities of intelligence and embody the virtues of humanity in all human activity women does not manifest her natal prerogative, owing to lack of education and opportunity. But it has been objected by some that woman is not equally capable with man and is deficient by creation. Heretofore, women has been denied the right and privileged of equal development .If equal opportunity be granted her, there is no doubt she would be the peer of man .Why should a woman be left mentally undeveloped? Science is praiseworthy-whether investigated by the intellect of man or woman. So, little by little, woman be advanced, giving increasing evidence of equal capabilities with man-whether in scientific research, political ability or any other sphere of human activity. The conclusion is evident that woman has been outdistanced through lack of education and intellectual facilities.
Baha’u’llah has announced that inasmuch as ignorance and lack of education are barriers of separation among mankind, all must receive training and instruction. Universal education is a universal law. It is, therefore, incumbent upon every father to teach and instruct his children according to his possibilities. Equality of the sexes will be established in proportion to the increased opportunities afforded woman in this age, for man and woman are equally the recipients and endowment from GOD, the Creator. God has not ordained distinction between them in His consummate purpose. The education of child is compulsory …In addition to this widespread education each child must be taught a profession, art,or trade, so that every member of the community will be enabled to earn his own livehood.Workdone in the spirit of service is the highest form of worship. Devote ye particular attention to the school for girls, for the greatness of this wondrous Age will be manifested as a result of progress in the world of women.
Praised be God that there is now a school of this type in Tehran where young maidens can, through His bounty, receive an education and with all vigor acquire the accomplishments of humankind.
No nation can achieve success unless education is accorded all its citizens. Therefore, the decision-making agencies involved would do well to consider giving first priority to the education of women and girls. It should teach the concept of world citizenship as part of the standard education of every child.
A very important element in the attainment of such equality is Baha’u’lluh’s provision that boys and girls must follow same curriculum in schools. The house of Justice regards the need to educate and guide women in their primary responsibility. Your efforts should focus on helping them in their function as educators of the rising generation. Women should also be encouraged to attract husbands and male members of the family to Baha’I education. Gradually the spirit of unity and fellowship, as set forth in our teaching, will be reflected in the life of Baha’I families.
